ON OUR KNEES FOR KENYA
George_MainaHello friends. Let me take us back in 2007 when the whole world held it's breath; Kenya was in flames. Two weeks Before the 2007 general elections Njenga Karume( defence minister) John Michuki( minister for internal security) Hussein Ali(police commissioner) had made alarming statements on how they would respond to any post-election unrest. Did they have any intelligence that their would be civil unrest in the country after the election. Certainly they knew. The election faced many malpractices and was heavily rigged. Remember Karume had warned Kenyans to remember that he was the defence minister and was quote saying 'kibaki cannot lose this election' What we are mostly now saying that our candidates cannot lose. We are very sure they cannot lose. What makes us think so? What if they lose?....interestingly most of the leaders by then are in the grave. Who perpetrated violence! Lucy Kibaki had even warned Ida Odinga that she would not enter statehouse! Friends today I was reading the papers. The headlines were alarming. Police will arrest anyone who reject election results... I have no words. I identified my home town Thika and my neighbour county Murang'a as hot spots for possible violence. In 2007/2008 I never witnessed any violence near my county. Many regions have been blacklisted. Friends as you pray for peace mention these parts of the country by name. Pray for leaders. Pray for their speeches and public utterances. We say NO to VIOLENCE, No TO NEGATIVE ETHNICITY. Nobody is safe. No region is face. This time round it's not easy in all seats beginning with mca , w/rep, governors etc. Followers of each are crushing with each other daily. Imagine what would happen in Kiambu if there were rumors that Waititu had been rigged in favour of Kabogo Or Dr. Mishra kiprop has been rigged in favour of speaker Terer in Kesses constituency? Friends Time is now. Don't say that you'll begin praying in July. Time is now. Stand for Kenya. Refuse slogans like that one in Murang'a 'maitu ndacenjagio' or that one in kisumu when mammoths turn our for Raila's rally in meru 'hii kitu tumesachukua' and many other slogans that may propagate violence... Time is now. In our knees for Kenya
