Murkomen loses 8 bodyguards, police escort, 3 vehicles and 746K in hefty perks.

Outspoken former Senate majority Leader Onesmus  Kipchumba Murkomen have lost  humongous privileges and perks any politician would dream of and hold dear if they were entitled to. During his tenure at the Senate top leadership, Murkomen and Susan Kihika were enjoying higher pay than their colleagues and had more enhanced security and their fleet of vehicles paid and fueled by the government. The two senators also had posh offices and a dozen office staff who were on government payroll. Following his ouster, Murkomen has lost the following benefits and priviledges;

1. His gross salary will be reduced from Ksh.1, 056,000 to Ksh.710,000 which is the normal earning gross salary for senators not in leadership positions.
2. He has lost 8 bodyguards, who are all trained police officers assigned to him.
3. He was allocated three motor vehicles all above 4500cc with GK number plates for official use. The motor vehicles  will be withdrawn and allocated to Senator Samuel Phoghisio
4. Murkomen was allocated  Ksh.300,000 monthly to his office for hospitality. He will no longer enjoy this benefit.
5.Because of his defiance, he has lost the mandatory police escort that he was entitled to.
6.He enjoyed a  monthly car fuel allowance of Kshs. 100,000 which will now reduce ZERO.
7. Gone with the wind are his staff who included a researcher, a legal counsel, a fiscal analyst and a media officer. 
8. Murkomen has lost a personal assistant of his choice, paid by GoK, two secretaries, two office assistants, all paid by GOK. This will now be enjoyed by Senator Samuel Phoghiso.
9. And the big loss Murkomen has suffered is the stature that comes with his former title.  The Majority Leader gets 30 minutes of uninterrupted time to move the government's agenda at the Senate. He will now be sitting down and listen to Senator Phoghiso as he moves President's Uhuru agenda.

Ladies and gentlemen, that's what Murkomen's defiance has cost him. Millions of money in allowances, posh cars, dozen office staff and a whole lot of 8 bodyguards and police escort. His counterpart senator Susan Kihika has also lost benefits and priviledges any senator would dream off. They will now sit in senate just like other senators and watch as the new team fulfill their mandate. Defiance and disloyalty never pays.
