Brian represents us; the leftovers of creation.

Brian Kimani Njoroge, the 13-year-old boy from Ndumberi, Kiambu County, now late, has been battling blood cancer for two years in different hospitals at home and abroad. It has been a brave and draining battle which the young boy lost a week ago. Brian illness brought grief and suffering and even in death it brings more grief. Brian suffered in life and even in death he is still suffering. The Getrudes hospital in Nairobi has refuesd to release his body after Brian acrrued 18m in mediccal bills, a humongous amount that the family cannot raise not even fathom.
Out of resignation, the family conducted a virtual burial for their beloved son which was precided by a church service at the Ndumberi ACK church. Now imagine the pain and the grief the family had, the parents and his young brother and sister as they laid wreathes at the spot where they have chosen to lay the remains of Brian to rest. It's undescribable. It's draining and traumatizing. The family cannot contend with the grief when their son is laying in a morgue, the hospital adamant to release it. The family's only hope is on well wishers to help them ofset the humongous bill so as they can lay to rest their dear son. ultimately, here is no pain that one can equate to this.
Go well Brian. You fought a brave but a draining battle. You represent the many suffering Kenyans, the many stranded in foreign countries seeking treatment, the many who have resigned and died a slow death. You represent the many depressed families, you represent us. The 10th class citizens. The leftovers of creation. Brian, you potray a toothless parliament that can't enact strong laws that's why a hospital is at will to detain your body as long as they want.
Brian, you potray a government that doesn't care about it's citizens. One that can't come up with a strong medical insurance scheme. You potray the gluttonous and villains in the NHIF who wants to bring the parastatal down by pocketing our hard-earned monthly contributions.
Brian, you potray scrupulous hospitals who are only there to make profits. You potray leaders who don't care about us. It's all about them and their families. They belch ignominiously in front of us as they swing their potbellies. We who line to vote for them, we the left overs of creation.
Go well Brian, you fought a hard battle. You suffered in life and in death you've brought more suffering. Rest in peace champ, may the good Lord comfort your family and give them the fortitude to bear the loss. one day we shall overcome!
